What do the most successful athletes do that others do not do? Do they REALLY have super human abilities? The secret to their success is found in something that every person has the ability to access!

If you are reading this, either you desire to be a successful athlete or have a child who dreams of becoming an amazing athlete. You may wonder if success if just based on skill or if there are secrets that only great athletes know. Just talk to any good coach and you'll learn that, though skill is important, it's not the main thing. There are a couple of things that great athletes possess that good athletes don't:

* Desire and determination are keys to your success in athletics. Michael Jordan didnÕt just want to become a good basketball player; rather he wanted to become the best basketball player. Just ask any high school basketball team what their goal is. They don't just want to play good or win the game. They want to be the state champion! Knowing your goal is the first step.

* Successful athletes envision their success before it happens. If you watched the Winter Olympics, you saw great concentration on the face of the athletes before their event. Most likely, they were reviewing how their event would go. They envisioned making every jump and turn and being first. Every successful athlete sees their success before it happens. Every time Michael Jordan got up to the free throw line, he envisioned the ball going in. He practiced more than anyone else. But not only did he practice his skill of putting the ball through the hoop; but mentally he saw himself making the basket every time. You must see it happening before it happens. You may recall the story of a sailing team from a couple of years ago who won the America's cup. When the television reporter asked the team if they were surprised that they won, their answer was "No. We saw us winning every day". Their coach had them watch a video daily that envisioned them winning. The mind is a powerful thing.

* Next, successful athletes claim their success before it happens. If you have the chance to listen to successful athletes, you will hear that their words match their goals. Examples may include, "I'm going to make this shot, I'm going to beat my time, or, I'm going to finish in the top 3". The words "if" and "maybe" are not in their vocabulary.

* And lastly, great athletes practice, practice, and practice. During their practice they give it their all. Great athletes don't give just 80%; rather, they give 110% effort. So when it's game time, they are ready to give it everything they got.

So now you know the secrets it takes to be a successful athlete. Desire it, believe it, see it happening, and do what it takes to make it happen. Henry Ford is quoted as saying "if you think you can or you think you can't, in either case you're right". This may serve you well to remember this the next time you compete in your sport.

My senior prom was a masquerade ball and my dress was hot pink.

Half way through the night, you are inevitably going to take your shoes off and dance barefoot. So if you are wearing a long dress and you really cannot see your shoes, I wouldn't worry about making sure you accessorize with the color of your shoes. (Perhaps, you should take back the black shoes as well and get some silver ones, if you can see your shoes.)

Your dress sounds elegant, not so much edgy. So I would lay off the black jewelry a bit. I would go for big bling: big rhinestone earrings and a big rhinestone ring and bracelet---definitely do long, elbow length gloves in black, to go with the black ruffles on the waist and floor hem. I would not suggest a necklace, especially if you are going to wear a large earring/drop earrings. As for the mask, GO FOR IT! Buy a black masquerade mask at a craft store and get some light pink/silver/rhinestone decorations. Remember: less is more on the mask.

Do you hair stick straight and put it into and elegant ponytail. I think you should have your hair off your neck because of all the dancing you will be doing. (Elegant pony: wrap a bit of your hair around the hair band to hide it.)

Almost all people have the deep craving for healthy and silky and shiny hair. No matter whatever hair type we have we all desire for that gorgeous look. After all our hair is that part of our body that have the most crucial role-play in setting our total appearance. Therefore it is the hair that becomes the most common experimental plot for the better styling. But along with that it should also be kept in mind that not only styling the hair can do the entire trick. What is needed more is the health of the hair. Therefore in this article we present you some of the natural processes for taking better care for your hair.

Shiny smooth hair is the desire of all; here are some tips for that:

1. Egg is a very useful thing for the hair. Mix an egg white with two spoon of castor oil, one spoon glycerin, and apply it on the scalp and hair and wash it after some tome.

2. Egg white and curd are also good conditioner for the hair. You can also mix beer with curd and egg for deep conditioning.

3. Coconut oil is also much helpful for the hair. Massage hair with warm coconut oil an hour before washing. Let it soak for a few minutes and then cover the head with a hot towel and wash the hair after an hour.

4. You can also use coconut oil by boiling it with the juice of curry leaves, hibiscus flower, basil and gooseberry. Apply this mixture on the hair and keep it for some time before rinsing it off.

5. For better treatment of the hair you can also mix a cup of coconut and mustard oil and soak a cup of curry leaves in the mixture and keep it for a night. Heat the oil till the curry leaves turn crispy. Add two camphor balls to the mixture and allow it to cool down. Apply to the hair roots and massage the scalp with it. Then leave it overnight and have a shampoo the next morning.

6. For damaged cuticles, have a steam towel wrap once in two weeks as steaming helps in opening the pores and helps to absorb the oil.

7. Castor oil is much helpful for the healthy hair growth. You can also wash the hair with tea once a week.

8. A mixture of vinegar in warm water and rinsing the hair with the solution adds bounce to dull and lifeless hair.

One of the biggest problems of the hair is graying hair. Therefore there is a need for having a check on it. Here is a little natural treatment for premature graying of the hair. Boil one cup of dried gooseberry with four cups of water. Add a pinch of sugar in it. Keep boiling till the quantity of the liquid reduces to one cup. Mix two cups of Mehendi with an egg and the juice of a lemon and the gooseberry solution and apply on hair. Wash the hair after two hours or so. Another treatment of graying hair is to mix a little Mehandi with the juice of a lemon, an egg and one table spoon of coffee powder and apply it on the hair and wash it after about 45 minutes.

In 1885, a critic writing in California Architects and Builders News had this to say about Victorian color schemes in San Francisco: "...red, yellow, chocolate, orange, everything that is loud is in fashion...if the upper stories are not of red or blue... they are painted up into uncouth panels of yellow and brown..." While he may not have appreciated the bright colors that were in vogue, there is a definite contingent of home owners today who want to paint their homes in authentic colors of the era and bold ones at that.

Contrary to today's white Victorian, the 'modern' Victorian home in the mid-late 1800s was painted in dark, vivid colors. Earth tones held sway: rich browns, greens and brick reds were what dotted the Victorian middle-class neighborhood. Victorian society was interested in nature and this was reflected in their color schemes, both within and without. Rich colors were commonly used for walls and trim and were reflected in the interior of the home in harmonizing wallpaper prints and moldings.

It will help if you study pictures and books of Victorian architecture and think about how the original builder of your home must have intended for the various parts of it to be colored. For each Victorian style home, there are certain colors that can be more or less appropriate depending on the time that the home was built and the particular flavor of the house itself. If you can find pictures of your home in historical documents, it might aid you in selecting the shade, if not the color of paint to be used.

If you want a little more flamboyance, consider painting your Victorian to resemble The "Painted Ladies" of San Francisco. While the above quote indicates that bright colors were certainly not unknown to the late 1800s Victorian home, this style really began in the 60s. A hideous period of wartime economies had uglified many of these beautiful houses with gray battleship paint and "modern" sidings of aluminum, tar paper and stucco. When artist Butch Kardum painted his Italianate-style home in blues and greens, he was criticized at first, but when other homeowners began to emulate his color schemes, the Painted Ladies were born and have since become one of the sights of San Francisco. Painted Ladies have three or more contrasting colors that flaunt the embellishments of the home. Intense blues, greens, reds, purples and pink shades are not unknown to these homes. If you would like to go this route, carefully study the many pictures of the Ladies and like homes for ideas.

Painting the exterior of your Victorian home can be challenging if you want an authentic reproduction of your home in its early years. However, it is a fun challenge to make your home into something that could have stepped out of the late 1800s... or the 1960s... or anywhere in between!
