Being a Bridesmaid?

okay so the bride thinks it will be cheaper for us if WE find someone to MAKE the bridesmaid dresses. Like patterns from walmart. and stuff. i have someone htat can make it. but is it normal or w/e to have the bridesmaid make there own dresses? the bride hasnt found fabric yet adn her wedding is n november and she wants pink....and i think it would b easier to just buy dresses from a bridal place....what do yall think?

i personally think it is easier for the bride to pick a color and the brides find a dress style that looks good on their figure. not everyone knows a great seamstress.
