Is Black appropriate for Bridesmaid dresses year round?

I am in the very beginning stages of planning my wedding. And it is my first so I am not real sure on all the "rules" of weddings. I love the idea of black bridesmaid dresses, but I think I want a Spring time wedding. Would this still work? Or not so much? I'd appreciate any opinion or thought really. If it doesn't work...what colors do? Thank you!

You can definitely do black any time of the year! The great thing about your wedding is... that it's YOUR wedding. Do what you want!! If you're having a spring time wedding you do have the option of using springy colored flowers. You can use tulips, gerbera daisies - anything in pinks, greens, purples, yellows... ect. Or just doing black and white is always elegant and in season!
You can also think about getting more femine styles or fabrics with the bridesmaid dresses. Maybe instead of using a heavy satin - look into chiffon or lighter fabrics. Or if you want to do satin - how about tea-length dresses that are cut shorter for spring/summer weddings?
You can also think about a bridesmaid dress style that offers some sort of color contrast. Whether this would be in a sash, belt or trim on a dress - some designers offer different color choices to accent the main color of the bridesmaid dress.
